Two days after registering his first match win at Roland Garros since 2012, Marcos fell in four sets to Bosnia and Herzegovina's Damir Dzumhur in the second round.
Dzumhur won the first two sets before Marcos broke immediately to open the third and would hold on to force a fourth. But the Bosnian would eventually prevail 6-4, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2 after nearly two and a half hours. Despite the loss, Marcos hit 30 winners, converted on three of five break chances and won 64 per cent first serve points. He was making his 10th appearance at Roland Garros and secured his ninth win there with a first round victory over 25th-seed Ivo Karlovic.
Marcos will next travel to Manchester, U.K. to begin his 2015 grass court campaign. Manchester is the site of the first of three consecutive ATP Challenger Tour events on grass. Last year, Marcos won his first title on the surface in Nottingham.
