Marcos’ good run in Zagreb ended on Saturday with a 6-4, 6-4 defeat against third seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the semi-finals.
“I started well today,” said Marcos. “I was in charge, I was aggressive, I was a break up, but then it went away from my hands. I have no regrets about the second set. He played really well. He was the better player on court today. He was the one finding a way to win.”
“We didn’t start well. We were a bit nervous,” said Garcia-Lopez. “Then we started to play much better with good rallies from the baseline. He did a few mistakes with his forehand, which is not his best shot. I was able to break him twice at 4/4.”
Marcos won’t play at next week’s ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.
