Marcos Will make the journey to New York City for his 10th US Open after falling in his Winston-Salem opener on Tuesday.
Marcos fired 10 aces and saved six of eight break points faced, but was unable to overcome qualifier Pierre-Hugues Herbert 6-2, 2-6, 7-5. The second-round encounter lasted one hour and 56 minutes.
Marcos was making his third trip to the Winston-Salem Open and first since 2012. He reached the quarter-finals on debut the year prior.
He will look to build on a 20-14 record this year (11-7 on hard courts) at the final Grand Slam of 2015 in New York. The tournament begins on Monday.
