Marcos opens his 2015 clay-court campaign with a second appearance at the BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy this week, having reached the second round in 2012 (l. to Fognini). He will face Belgium's Steve Darcis first on Central at 12:00pm noon local time in Bucharest.
Carrying a 2-1 head-to-head record into his clash against Darcis, Marcos is looking to build on a 7-5 ATP World Tour record this year, with his best result coming in Zagreb (SF). His most recent meeting with Darcis was in Eastbourne 2012, after registering wins in Wimbledon 2008 and Winston-Salem 2011.
Marcos is contesting just his second clay-court match since Roland Garros 2013 and is seeking his first match win on the surface since advancing to the second round at the tournament the year prior. He is in the same half of the draw as second seed Gael Monfils.
