The final week of the ATP World Tour regular season is here, at the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris, and Marcos is looking to cap his campaign with a strong finish.
Back at the Paris Indoors for the first time since 2012, he opens against French wild card Paul-Henri Mathieu. It is the site of his first Masters 1000 semi-final (in 2007).
The last time Marcos and Mathieu faced off on the ATP World Tour was seven years ago in Miami. The Frenchman leads the ATP head-to-head 2-1, but Marcos also owns their most recent ATP Challenger Tour encounter in Irving in 2015.
Should Marcos win, he would face 14th seed Grigor Dimitrov, with World No. 1 Novak Djokovic a potential third-round opponent.
