Marcos is through to the quarter-finals of the $125,000 ATP Challenger Tour event in Tashkent after recording a comfortable 6-3, 6-3 victory over Russian Evgeny Kirillov on Wednesday.
As in his first-round match on Tuesday, Marcos was impressive on serve, winning 86 per cent of points behind his first serve and surrendering just 11 points behind his delivery in total.
He broke his Russian opponent’s serve twice from seven opportunities in the first set, before converting his only break point opportunity in the second set to go on and seal victory after just 62 minutes.
Marcos next will face the winner of the second-round clash between Andrey Kumantsov and Tatsuma Ito for a place in the semi-finals.
