Marcos will compete in the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships next week and has been drawn to face third seed Ernests Gulbis of Latvia in the first round.
Looking ahead to potential opponents for Marcos in the draw, German Philipp Petzschner or Israel’s Dudi Sela lie in wait in the second round, with Tommy Haas and seventh seed Jermey Chardy potential quarter-final opponents.
Although Sam Querrey has taken a late wild card into the event, the American is seeded second and in the opposite half of the draw to Marcos. Mardy Fish is the top seed in Marcos’ half and could play him in the semi-finals.
