Marcos and Grigor Dimitrov lost their first-round doubles match at the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament on Tuesday, falling to Julian Knowle and Filip Polasek 7-6(4), 6-1 in 70 minutes. The Cypriot/Bulgarian duo hit 10 aces, but only converted one of their seven break point chances, while dropping their own serve three times.
Marcos now turns his attention to singles and a first-round match with Benoit Paire on Wednesday in Rotterdam. The Frenchman is in good form, having reached the final last week at the Open Sud de France in Montpellier, where he finished runner-up to Richard Gasquet.
Marcos has never played the No. 38-ranked Paire before. The match is scheduled for not before 1:30pm local time (GMT +1hr) on Centre Court Wednesday. See the full order of play here.
