Marcos' run in Johannesburg has come to an end at the hands of second seed David Ferrer. The Spaniard took a straight sets victory 7-5, 6-2.
Ferrer, who has not dropped a set this week, again played well in Friday's quarter-final - offering up just one break point to Marcos. Ferrer also made sure he had a good look at Marcos' second serves, forcing Marcos into errors.

It has been another promising week for Marcos though on his return to the tour, with a quarter-final appearance at the ATP World Tour 250 event.
