Marcos’ Olympic dream ended on Wednesday at Wimbledon as he was beaten in the third round by British hope and World No. 4 Andy Murray, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 in just under two hours on Centre Court.
“The pressure was a bit bigger and I am disappointed,” said Marcos, who was hoping to become Cyprus’ first-ever medallist at the Olympic Games.
“I came here for a medal. That was my dream, so I can say everything has finished today. All the disappointment came out. I’m sure tomorrow morning, the day will be better.”
Marcos will next contest the Rogers Cup, beginning in Toronto next week.
