Marcos bowed out in the second round at Roland Garros on Thursday as he was beaten by Spanish No. 12 seed Nicolas Almagro, 6-4, 6-3, 7-5.
In a keenly contested match, Marcos fought well against Almagro, a winner of two ATP World Tour clay-court titles this season. He rallied from a break down in the third set to lead 5-4, but lost the final three games against the Spaniard.
Marcos will now turn his attentions to grass, and will play his next tournament at The Queen’s Club in London from 11-17 June.
