Marcos fell at the first hurdle in his qualifying campaign at the PBZ Zagreb Indoors on Saturday, losing to Pedja Krstin 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 in one hour and 43 minutes.
The players swapped five service breaks each before Marcos lost to the 19-year-old Krstin in their first meeting.
