Marcos’ campaign in Houston ended in a 4-6, 6-2, 6-1 first-round defeat to Alejandro Gonzalez on Monday at the ATP World Tour 250 clay-court tournament.
After breaking his Colombian opponent twice to take the first set, Marcos lost serve six times in the second and third sets, succumbing to the 25 year old in their first meeting in just under two hours.
