Marcos will get the chance to test himself against some of the world’s best players ahead of the 2011 ATP World Tour season when he competes in the Mubadala World Tennis Championship over the next couple of days in Abu Dhabi.
In the first match on Thursday, scheduled for 3pm local time (+4 hours GMT), Marcos will face 2010 Wimbledon runner-up Tomas Berdych. The winner goes on to face World No. 1 Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals on Friday.

“Last year I started to get back to my very best so I cannot wait to start my season in Abu Dhabi against a quality field in preparation for the Australian Open,” said Marcos. “Over the years I’ve had some great battles with Tomas and I’m expecting another very close match but hopefully the fans at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship will see me as the ‘local player’ and show me their support.”
