Marcos will make his debut at the Shanghai Rolex Masters when he faces French qualifier Jeremy Chardy on Monday in the first round of the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 hard-court tournament.
Marcos started the Asian swing in good form, reaching the Kuala Lumpur quarter-finals, and will be eager to bounce back strongly from the first-round defeat he suffered in Beijing this week at the hands of Alexandr Dolgopolov.
Indeed, Dolgopolov is a potential second-round opponent for Marcos should he get past Chardy, providing the Ukrainian defeats No. 16 seed Nicolas Almagro in their first-round clash on Sunday. Check out the full draw here.

Marcos will look to overturn a 0-2 record against World No. 60 Chardy when they meet for the third time on Monday. Both previous meetings have been extremely close, with Chardy winning in two tie-breaks in Delray Beach last year and needing a third-set tie-break to defeat Marcos in the Toronto first round in August.
Marcos vs. Chardy: Head-to-Head
The 23-year-old Chardy qualified into the main draw with wins over Paul-Henri Mathieu and Go Soeda. His best performance this year came in Toronto, where, after beating Marcos in the first round, he went on to defeat two Top 10 players, Fernando Verdasco and Nikolay Davydenko, to reach the quarter-finals.
