Marcos is back in action this week at the BNP Paribas Open, the first ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament of the season in Indian Wells. The tournament gets underway on Thursday, but as Marcos is seeded No. 19, he has a bye through the first round.
Marcos’ first opponent will be either Indian qualifier Somdev Devvarman, who impressed in Davis Cup action last week, or Frenchman Adrian Mannarino. He is then seeded to meet French No. 15 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the third round, with the possibility of top seed Rafael Nadal in the fourth round should he progress.
Also in the top quarter of the draw with Marcos are the likes of David Ferrer, Nicolas Almagro and Gilles Simon. Check out the full draw here.
Indian Wells was a memorable tournament for Marcos last year as he recorded his first win in seven attempts over Roger Federer in a dramatic late-night third-round clash.
