Marcos will face Chinese Taipei’s Yen-Hsun Lu in the first round of the Proton Malaysian Open, Kuala Lumpur 2009, the draw revealed today.
Marcos has been awarded a wild card into the inaugural ATP World Tour 250 hard-court tournament and is unseeded in the 32-man main draw.
Marcos is in the bottom half of the draw and in the second round could face either seventh-seeded Spaniard David Ferrer or Russian Mikhail Youzhny. Other seeds in the bottom half are No. 2 Fernando Verdasco, No. 4 Fernando Gonzalez and No. 8 Lleyton Hewitt.
World No. 8 Nikolay Davydenko headlines the event, while Roland Garros finalist Robin Soderling also features in the top half of the draw.
