Marcos will test his game ahead of Roland Garros by playing in the 1er Masters Guinot Mary Cohr at Paris’ Golf and Country Club in Rueil-Malmaison on Wednesday.
A whole host of top stars are lined up to grace the clay-court warm-up IMG event in the coming days, including World No. 1 Rafael Nadal, No. 2 Roger Federer and No. 3 Andy Murray. The 12 players will be split into two teams of six, Guinot vs Mary Cohr, led by two team captains – Marat Safin and James Blake.
The conditions will be like those at Roland Garros – same climate, same balls and same surface – making it the perfect preparation for the clay-court Grand Slam that begins on Sunday.
Marcos will play against Frenchman Gael Monfils, who last year went on a dream run to the French Open semi-finals. Andy Murray will take on Paul-Henri Mathieu at 1:30 local time on Wednesday, with Marcos and Monfils to follow on to court.
