Davis Cup Draw Released
The Davis Cup draw for 2009 Europe/Africa Zone Group II was made in Madrid today and Cyprus will face the second seeds Portugal.
Led by Marcos, Cyprus will play the tie at home the weekend of 6-8 March next year.
The tie will be a re-match of the Europe/Africa Zone Group II quarterfinal, which Marcos was forced to miss and Portugal won 5-0.
Should Cyprus win, it will face either Ireland or Algeria in the quarterfinals in July.
Marcos has an outstanding 30-3 singles record in Davis Cup and won both his singles matches and the crucial doubles tie in Cyprus's first round clash against Slovenia in Nicosia earlier this year.
