Marcos will look ahead to the ATP World Tour's clay-court season after falling to Nick Kyrgios 6-2, 6-1 in the second round of the Miami Open.
Making his ninth appearance at the Masters 1000 event in Miami, Marcos was unable to follow up a dominant showing in beating Benjamin Becker in straight sets on Thursday. He struck 12 winners and two aces in the 57-minute affair. Marcos got off to a quick start in breaking for a 2-1 lead, but could not maintain the momentum and his 20 year old opponent proved to be too strong in the end.
Marcos is next headed to Houston for the U.S. Men's Clay Court Championship before turning his attention to the European clay of Bucharest, Munich and Madrid.
