Marcos was beaten in the second round of the Rogers Cup on Wednesday, falling to 10th-seeded Croatian Marin Cilic, 7-5, 6-3. Cilic, a winner of two ATP World Tour titles this season, broke serve four times from six opportunities to claim victory in 81 minutes.
Marcos will continue is US hard-court campaign at next week’s Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati, where he defeated then-World No. 1 Rafael Nadal to reach the semi-finals in 2010 (l. to Federer).
