Marcos could have the chance for revenge against Mikhail Youzhny in next week’s China Open after the draw for the ATP World Tour 500 hard-court tournament set a possible second-round meeting between the two players.
In a 32-man draw featuring seven Top 10 players, there are no easy matches and Marcos, unseeded, opens his campaign against upcoming Ukrainian player Alexandr Dolgopolov, who reached a career-high World No. 39 in July after starting the season ranked No. 131.
Marcos also finds himself in the same quarter of the draw as World No. 4 Andy Murray, making his return to action after a fourth-round exit at the US Open, Indian Wells champion Ivan Ljubicic (who opens against Youzhny), and fast-rising Andrey Golubev, who is competing in the Kuala Lumpur semi-finals this weekend.

Marcos is a former champion in Beijing, after winning his maiden ATP World Tour title in the Chinese capital in 2006 with victory over Mario Ancic. He also reached the quarter-finals in 2007 before running into then-World No. 2 Rafael Nadal in the first round last year.
Main draw play begins on Monday in Beijing. Stay tuned to www.baghdatis.com for all the latest news and photos.
Go, Marcos!
