Australian Open Draw Released

Marcos will return to the scene of his greatest tennis triumph to date next week when he plays at the Australian Open in Melbourne. Marcos announced his breakthrough on the world stage five years ago in Melbourne when he took out three Top 10 players to reach the final, eventually finishing runner-up in four sets to Roger Federer.

In his seventh Australian Open Marcos is seeded No. 21 in the 128-player main draw and will open his campaign against a qualifier. There is potential for a mouth-watering clash with former World No. 4 and 2009 US Open champion Juan Martin del Potro in the second round; the Argentine is unseeded as he makes his return from a serious wrist injury that restricted him to just three tournaments in 2010.

Should all go according to seeding, Marcos would meet No. 11 Jurgen Melzer in the third round. He is in the second quarter of the draw, along with 2010 runner-up Andy Murray, World No. 4 Robin Soderling and 2008 finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
