Marcos will open his Australian Open campaign on Tuesday against unseeded Italian Paulo Lorenzi.
Currently a career-high No. 83 in the South African Airways 2010 ATP Rankings, Lorenzi is making his first main-draw appearance at a Grand Slam championship. The 28 year old opened the season with successive first-round exits in Doha and Auckland and has won just one ATP World Tour-level match in his career.

Looking ahead to the encounter, Marcos confessed: “I don't know too much [about] the guy. [I’ve] never played him before.” He added: “[The] most important thing is to work on the things that I have to work on and get ready for the match on Tuesday. Then I think if I do that and stay focused, keep my feet on the ground, then I'll find a way to win.”
After a rain-interrupted first day at Melbourne Park, it’s an action-packed schedule on Day 2 of the Australian Open. Marcos will feature fourth on Margaret Court Arena following an 11 a.m. start (midnight GMT, 2 a.m. Cyprus).
