Marcos To Start 2015 In Adelaide

Tuesday, 09 December, 2014

Marcos is set to start his 2015 campaign in Adelaide as he builds up for the Australian Open, which begins in Melbourne on 19th January.

From 5th January, Marcos will join the field at the Happy Valley Challenger. Marcos compiled a 22-2 record on the ATP Challenger Tour in 2014, winning titles in Nottingham, Vancouver, Aptos and Geneva.

Then, the week before the Australian Open, Marcos joins an all-star line-up at the World Tennis Challenge exhibition at Memorial Drive, Adelaide. Held from 13-15 January, Marcos will join US Open champion Marin Cilic and legends John McEnroe, Goran Ivanisevic and Michael Chang.

On Tuesday 13 January, Marcos will play a singles match against Cilic, before partnering Chang against the master/apprentice combination of Ivanisevic/Cilic in a doubles match. On Wednesday, Marcos will play another singles match against a player to be confirmed before once again pairing with Chang in the doubles against McEnroe and one other.

Marcos’ tour Down Under culminates in his 11th appearance at the Australian Open, where he famously reached the final in 2006, finishing runner-up to Roger Federer.
