Marcos Injury Update

Saturday, 09 March, 2013

An MRI scan on Friday revealed Marcos has Impingement Syndrome in his right shoulder. Two of the tendons in his shoulder have fluid on them, causing inflammation.

Marcos has been advised to rest for four days and is receiving anti-inflammatories and treatment to ice and reinforce the shoulder muscles daily. It means he has been forced to withdraw from the Indian Wells doubles with Mikhail Youzhny, but he has taken a wild card into the Dallas Challenger next week.

Marcos will fly to Dallas on Sunday and may have a light 20-minute practice on Monday, before building up to 45 minutes on Tuesday. He will then see how his shoulder feels in his first-round match on Wednesday.

If all goes well, Marcos will then compete at the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami the following week.

Stay tuned for updates.
